We were excited about the re-opening of the Hyatt Regency Bali in January 2019. It was closed for a few years due to renovation. While trying to look for the next getaway, we learned that the Hyatt Regency Bali is accepting bookings from 20 December 2018.
We booked a 4 night stay with them without much hesitation. The World of Hyatt app does make it so easy to make hotel bookings. Bali was also one of the 30% discounted redemption destinations for December KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes, it costs only 5250 krisflyer points for one way economy ticket from Singapore to Denpasar, Bali.
Since it has been a while since we last visited Bali, we decided to Google what’s new and what’s happening in Bali in December.
One can’t deny that with the recent tsunami to the crash of a Lion Air flight in Indonesia, one does think twice about travelling to Indonesia.
That’s what happen to us, we read that a 5.3 magnitude earthquake happened in Bali last Thursday, 15 November. There were no casualties reported but that made us pause for a second before making our air ticket booking.
Should we proceed to fly to Bali and enjoy the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Bali?
Staying at the new Hyatt is really tempting, not to mention that it is a Category 1 hotel and it costs 5000 Hyatt points per night. The hotel had multiple pools and is just right by the beach.
After much consideration, we decided to cancel our reservation at Hyatt Regency Bali.
Will you proceed with the reservation?
