We booked the Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia because it is only walking distance to the Petronas Twin Tower and some other major shopping centres like The Pavilion where nice local food are served.
As we arrived, we were directed to the 39th floor for check-in. The person who check-ed us in was polite and with a smily face too! It is always nice to see the Malaysian Smile!
Off we go to our standard room. We took another lift down to our room as Grand and Park Hyatt’s lobby are normally at the top floor.
As we tap into our room, we saw some Apples and also a small pastry box – The Welcome Gift! The last time we visited here we were provided pink macaroons. therefore we did have a little bit of expectation on our returning visit!

Room
We booked a standard room, here’s what Hyatt has to say about their room:
[themify_quote]Grand Rooms measure approximately 47 square metres and feature an elegant and spacious interior with a contemporary design, creating the ideal accommodation experience for both business and leisure travellers. The spaciousness of the Grand Rooms is further accentuated by floor-to-ceiling windows concept, which grant views of Kuala Lumpur city, and an LCG cube around the bathtub and rain shower that may be adjusted for privacy.[/themify_quote]
We absolutely love the room, the room felt new and properly prepared! Not all 5 stars hotel makes you feel that way.
The glass wall in the bathroom could be adjusted for privacy. We have “turn off” the glass as the photo below.
This alarm clock somehow caught my attention.
The outdoor swimming pool is a really nice zone out place. We did a few rounds and decided to just lay on the lounge chair. I think it is a saltwater pool. We like that it opens from 6am until 10pm. The staff around there were friendly and attentive too, making sure we have fresh towel and enough bottled water.
Breakfast
Our room came with breakfast. Trust us, we did feast during breakfast, we ate so much that we did not even need to go for lunch!
A variety of food was served. Your typical western breakfast with your personalised omelette or poach egg are available, Canton cuisine, Indian cuisine, Malay cuisine and of course Corn Flakes and milk for the kids. Here’s what we had, and we dare not to show all of them, you will need to go and experience it yourself.
Room Service
We did not ask much, the only request was to have a bucket of ice sent to our room each night so that we could have some ice water after walking around this sunny city! And yes, we had it sent to us every night, we were satisfied!
Oh yeah, one thing we really like about the Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is they are very generous in providing us mineral water. We have at least 4 bottles of water in our room, there is also some mineral water for grab at the lobby which everyone will pass through before going to the ground floor of the hotel.
Checking Out
There was a small wait during our checkout, possibly we did it right at 12pm, the typical check out time. The staff did apologize for the wait time and then proceed to assist us. It was a smooth check-out process.
Bottom Line
We were very happy with our stay at the Hyatt. Staffs were attentive and we normally see smiles and laughter whenever we walk pass the lobby.
Here’s what we like
- Nice service from staff
- King bed was comfortable
- Close to the Petronas Twin Tower and a walking distance to KLCC Public Transit Train (LRT)
- Amazing breakfast selection and good view too
- GRAB and über are widely available
