Quiet Air China PVG Shanghai Terminal 2 Star Alliance Lounge → Roaming Alpaca

Air China’s Star Alliance Gold Lounge was located quite a bit of a distance from the security checkpoint which was the reason why they offered me a complimentary buggy ride there. My domestic flight was set to depart from PVG Terminal 2.

For the record, in Shanghai Pudong airport (PVG), immigration and security check were done together. This means you do not have to go through security screening for your baggage at the boarding gate like some other airports.

Once security and immigration check is completed, go down an escalator and there is the buggy counter. Just pass the buggy ticket to the staff at the counter and he’ll sort it out.

I was lucky to have a private buggy for myself. The buggy left 5 minutes after waiting for other passengers, there were none.

The whole ride took around 10 minutes because the lounge was really far away and travelers walking around the airport were not paying attention to the buggy where my buggy pilot had to honk and stop multiple times. At the end of the day, I arrived safely.

Getting into the lounge was pretty easy. All they needed was the boarding pass. As long as you are a Star Alliance Gold member you will be able to get in.

As long as you are a Star Alliance Gold member you will be able to gain access.

Surprisingly the lounge was pretty empty with less than 5 people in it during my stay there. I thought there were more staff than people flying.

I do like the space and the quite environment, something that’s really hard to come by especially in China.

I was surprised with the amount of food being served. One could have a full meal if one is really hungry. I made myself a cup of coffee because I had a heavy breakfast at the hotel.

I took a couple of photos just in case I need to come back next time.
