Photo Review: SQ SIN-CAN Economy Class Indian Vegetarian Meal
Singapore Airlines (SQ) flies from Singapore to Guangzhou twice a day, one in the morning and another in the evening. I have taken both of them before.
We boarded at transfer A where there was a big space to rest after going through the security check. The waiting lounge had hydration system to refill water and also a washroom. Pretty convenient I would say.

SQ Economy Class – Boarding and Hardware
No dramas during boarding time, knowing that I did not have a seat mate in this flight, I boarded almost last. On an A330, I would normally select the end of the cabin as my personal preferred seat. I felt that there was more space on row 58, 59, 60 and 61. For more seating choices, check out SeatGuru’s SQ A330 seat map.
SQ provided each passenger a pillow and a blanket. The blanket was wrapped in a plastic bag. I find them thicker than what other airlines offered.
As usual, hot towel were served before departure, a gesture I appreciated very much.
SQ Economy Class – Food
What I like about SQ is that even though you are in Economy, you can still pre-order a wide selection of meal raw vegan meal to seafood meal. For this flight, Glutinous rice with plain omelette was offered on the inflight menu.
I’ve preordered an Indian Vegetarian meal. I wanted to try out all the vegetarian meals served on airplane, eventually.
If you preordered a meal, you get priority food aka you get served first. There were several times where I had finished my meal but my seat mate’s meal were not served yet. So the next time you are on an SQ flight, preorder your meal. Oh, did I say that SQ provided real silverware for their passengers to enjoy real meal?
So what did they serve?
- Fruit platter
- Normal
- Butter bread
- Normal
- Donut and Chutney
- I like the donut, not too sure about chutney
- Curry and some starch
- Tasted pretty spicy and I like it
- Plain yogurt
- This surprisingly tasted heavenly after an Indian meal, perfect combo.
SQ Economy Class – Lavatory
Washroom were kept clean constantly. What I like was the mouthwash, a much needed rinse after an Indian meal. They have cologne and hand lotion in case you needed them. Oh, toothbrush too if you needed to brush.
SQ Economy Class – The View
I took a couple of photos during the flight, mostly after having my breakfast. The sky was pretty blue at 35,000ft and during landing we met an ANA Boeing 767.
SQ Economy Class – Bottom Line
It was yet another smooth flight with SQ. I will surely take this flight again if I need to fly from Singapore to Guangzhou. The plane was an A330, I prefer the two seats configuration on the sides. Window seat would be my preference for this 4 hours trip as one only need to go pass one person to use the lavatory.
