Coming back from Japan, we decided to take a later ANA flight back to Singapore so that we did not need to rush to the airport. After checking out from our hotel in the afternoon, we took the airport limo to Narita Airport. The bus ride took 2 hours.
It took a while for us to drop our bag as there was a long queue. Other than that all were good.

ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Plane Spotting
We spent a while at Narita’s plane spotting area at Terminal one before going through security. The weather was sunny that day. We took a couple of time-lapse videos and some wide angle photos, we did not have our telephoto lens with us. I just found a Narita plane spotting guide if you are heading to Narita Airport soon. The plane observation location was right above Delta’s Narita Hub.
Some of the nice views during our plane spotting season. You could see the whole runway here.
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Pre-Boarding
There were tons of delicate souvenirs up for purchase in Narita airport. Everything from Hokkaido Milk or Melon and Matcha were on sale. If you are stopping over in Narita, we suggest that you take around 4-5 hours to enjoy what the airport has to offer.
We picked up this Hokkaido Kit Kat on our way home. Our friends love it!
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Boarding
ANA is one of the few airlines that welcome you during when you board their planes. You can see their genuine smiles to every single passengers, unlike some of our experiences where they picked their customers whom they wanted to interact with. Consistency is the key to returning customers and we are certainly one of those hoping for another ANA experience.
It was a full flight then. I opted for an aisle seat in order to have easy access to the lavatory during this 7 hours flight. I always keep myself hydrated during long flights. The inflight entertainment system was pretty straight forward, offering up to date movies in various languages and genres.
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Food
Rice cracker was served minutes after our flight took off. I asked for a Pepsi Zero. ANA did not serve Coke Zero. Before my flight, I logged on to ANAs food section to see what they had to offer for the month. You could look at First Class, Business and Economy Class’s meal and decide if you want to go with the standard meal or pre-order your customised meal.
Heres the meals which you could pre-order from ANA:
- Allergen-free Meal
- Jain vegetarian meal
- Kosher meal
- Raw vegetarian meal
- Bland meal
- Lactose-free meal
You could order them via your travel agent where you’ve booked your ticker or call ANA or login to ANA’s website.
Since it was Unagi season and ANA was offering it for all their passengers, we decided to go with the standard meal and cancelled our vegetarian meal request.
So how was the food?
- Salad
- Normal
- Noodle
- Nice
- Unagi Rice
- First time having this on air. It was served warm. Considering that I’ve always love Unagi, I will surely order this again if they have this on my future flights.
- Dessert – Sponge cake
- I quite like it actually. Pretty soft and not too sweet.
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Lavatory
Let’s check out the Lavatory. It’s the standard configuration on most ANA Economy class. No bidet toilet here in economy class.
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – WiFi
The Wifi offered was different from the one offered on my flight from Singapore to Haneda earlier. It was USD21.95 for a 24 hours flight (great if you are transmitting) while this Narita – Singapore flight priced it at USD 19.95 for a full 7 hours flight. We did not try it, were resting most of the time.
ANA NRT-SIN Economy Class – Bottom Line
We managed to get a few hours of rest during this flight. My seat was comfortable and I am quite happy. Overall flight experience was good, we will definitely take this flight again, or any ANA flights. Perhaps we should try to be on one of ANA’s Millennium Falcon!
