Quite a few people asked me about this hotel. I stayed at Centara Watergate Bangkok in June 2016 over a weekend. It was a stone throw away from the famous Pratunam Platinum Mall aka ladies heaven for clothes shopping.

Centara Watergate – Check In
We arrived around 8.30pm and there was a long queue for check in. It looked chaotic, actually we were not sure if people were checking in or checking out. Fortunately, one of the staffs saw us approaching the front office counter and approached us proactively. He told us to take a seat first and give us a simple form to fill in.

Within minutes after passing the form back to him we got our room key. We thought that was pretty efficient and friendly. A much welcome feeling when you are on a vacation.

Centara Watergate – Twin Bed Room
Upon entering the room, the washroom and bathroom was on our left, there was a small table and storage space on the right side of the door.
The bed was very comfortable during our 3 nights stay here. All of us managed to get some quality sleep and our rooms’ air condition was super powerful!

It’s was a basic room with a television which we occasionally watched and a cool sofa with a red pillow. My travel mate loved that pillow!

We were all covered with bathroom amenities, the only thing we bought from the convinient store nearby was a bottle of mouthwash. We were not expecting the hotel to provide that at the first place.

The shower capsule was rather weird, there was a curtain that separated the bed and shower. You can draw the curtain from outside of the shower room to look into the shower room. I guessed the idea was to provide a sense of a bigger space.

We also asked for a rollaway bed and it was comfortable too. Our corner room had just the right location for the extra bed. One a good day, you could see quite a view from our room.
If view is what you like I would suggest hanging out at the outdoor pool at 11th floor where the lobby is located.
Centara Watergate – Overall Impression
Oh well, we thought the hotel was at a good location, it was pretty easy for us to get a Grab to go around Bangkok. We chose Grab instead of Uber because Grab had a fixed fare policy and it did saved us some money. I remember one of our trips which took almost 40 minutes due to the traffic jam costed only 60 Baht.
As for the hotel itself, staff were nice to us, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We did not book the breakfast package because we wanted to enjoy Bangkok infamous street food.
We will probably return to this hotel again if the price is right.
