We arrived Kuala Lumpur from Singapore around 8.10am on a Saturday, feeling exhausted but excited, we hop into a Grab car and went straight to DoubleTree by Hilton located at Jalan Ampang. It is located within a mall called The Intermark. The ride from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) took around an hour.
Upon arriving DoubleTree by Hilton, we were greeted by the hotel staff and was directed to take an escalator to the first floor. Their lobby is located there.
After confirming our stay, we were each given their Signature Cookie, and it was served warm! The front desk executive informed us that since we told them before hand that we will be arriving earlier than the usual 3pm check-in time, our room was ready. He was also kind enough to let us know where the pool, restaurant and executive lounge are located.
We pay for our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia by using 2000 Hhonors points and Rm129.00 (Tax inclusive). This is a Category 2 Hotel. Once we have gotten our key card, we went up to our room at 32nd floor.
King Bed Deluxe Room
The King Bed Deluxe Room, one of the most popular accommodations, offers picturesque views of mountain landscapes dotting the skyline of Kuala Lumpur.
We were provided a room facing the train station and a field, we quite like the view especially it was a sunny day with bright blue sky! The red bedding made the room looks so inviting, rose petals used were also from fresh flowers!
Wanted to show you the cookie they offered. It was delicious as long as you eat it warm. It turns hard when its cold.
Executive Lounge at 34th Floor
We went to the executive floor for a bit after unpacking our stuff, hoping to be able to get some food still. I think breakfast is served until 11am, therefore during our arrival, the staff was starting to clean up. We were luck to still able to get some food.
Took some photos of the lounge.
Before we left, we had our sweet treat – Ginger Ale.
For some reason, mineral water and sparkling water are not provided in the fridge, you will need to ask the staff for it. We asked for two bottle of mineral water and they gave it to us with a smiley face. You can get carbonated drinks such as Coke or Bitter Lemon at the counter yourself though.
There is a small outdoor section at the Executive Lounge, it was nice to enjoy the breeze for a bit at 34th floor. Too bad when we went there, someone just smoked a cigarette and it did not smell good.
Oh, in case you are interested, there is a cocktail session between 1730hrs-1930hrs on Saturdays at the lounge. We chose to wander around Kuala Lumpur city center and skipped this.
Breakfast at the Makan Kitchen
The bed was really comfortable, we had such a good sleep that we almost missed breakfast. By the time we woke up, we only had 5 minutes before breakfast service ends.
Not the best photos but you get to gauge that a variety of food was offered in the breakfast buffet.
Bottom Line
We were definitely delighted our one night stay here at DoubleTree by Hilton. Should we visit KL again, we will mostly likely come back here.
It is definately worth to pay 2000 Hhonors points + RM129.00 (~USD$32) for one night stay.
Here’s what we like:
- King bed was really comfortable
- A variety of breakfast
- Nice pool – Even though we did not get to swim in it. I like lap pool
- 5 minutes walk to the nearest train station (LRT) – Jalan Ampang
- 1km walking distance to the KLCC Twin Tower
- Convenient to Grab a Car or Uber
Lastly, we wanted to thank Nina, Kim, Fazli and Jacqueline who took care of us during our stay at Hilton.
