Stir fry vegetables with salty, spicy 🌶 and numbing effect of the Sichuan pepper! Yes, this is your answer to the vegetarian and allium free Mala Xiang Guo 麻辣香锅.
We finally had a chance to try it! We ordered the “less spicy” 微辣 version. It turned out to be pretty good.
Our Mala Xiang Guo had quite a bit of goodies inside to fill 2 tummies. There were black fungus, potato, lotus, mushroom, prawn, layer meat, fried toufu skin and vegetables. You can add noodles or more ingredients. We chose to go with the default ones.
Layer meat tasted greasy and spicy, just like how we would like it. The gravy was soaked into mushrooms 🍄 and it tasted so good when we had it with white rice. The sliced potatoes 🥔 could have been cooked a little bit longer as it tasted a bit raw to us.
Closing Thought 💭 👍👍👍
We ordered twice already before posting this recommendation. Decided to give this three thumbs up because of the undercooked potatoes.
We will still order this from Shu Vegetarian. Did we mention that their service are consistently good too?
